Spring/Summer 09-10 Preview

From Britten’s 2009 summer line creates fresh, minimalist clothing, reflecting the designers’ characteristic use of contrasting styles and materials.

The clothes are inspired by the feeling of a cool change in hot weather, and the soft, light period just before the sun rises in summer.

The range is relaxed, and cool neutrals and transparencies off-set by bold blacks create a fresh, clean summer palette. The subdued, cool colours with accentuating light blues are soft, yet the use of units of block colours against the subtle variations bring a gentle sharpness and edge to the clothing.

The clothes are fitted without being rigid, following principles of tailoring with a much softer final touch. The range hosts a variety of draped jersey shirts, skim-fit shorts, shirts in sheer colours, draped cardigans, and short-cut coats over long-cut coats.
